While slots reach total GGR, Nevada's August betting revenue increases by 39.7%.

 Summarising some of the most recent monthly state results in the United States, iGB examines how Mississippi's retail sports betting market grew in August despite Nevada's overall gambling revenue declining due to a decline in slot activity.
 Weekend Report Better US According to data from the Nevada Gaming Control Board, mobile sports betting in Nevada increased 13% in 2023 to $14.8 million.

 In August, baseball generated $9.7 million of the vertical's revenue, the most of any sport, while American football brought in $8.7 million.  Nonetheless, operators lost money on both basketball and hockey wagers.

 The Control Board reported that $14.8 million of total wagering revenue came from mobile, with an additional $7.6 million coming from betting on other sports.

 In the meantime, sports betting pool revenue, which is included in table games, increased 38.9% year over year to $25 million in August.

 Sports betting handle information is not made public by the Control Board.

 August revenue in Nevada fell once more.
 The state's total gambling revenue dropped 3.8% year over year to $1.16 billion (£869.8 million/€1.04 billion).  Additionally, the August total is 7.7% lower than the July amount for this year.

 This loss was mostly caused by a decline in revenue from in-person slots.  Overall slot machine revenue for August decreased 3.8% to $798.3 million.

 The one-cent, five-cent, twenty-five-cent, one-dollar, and five-dollar slots all had double-digit drops.  Nonetheless, multi-denomination slots, which provide the majority of the state's gambling income, witnessed a 15.7% increase in revenue to $555 million.

 Results for table games are mixed.
 Looking at other areas of the market, table, counter, and card game revenue, which includes racing pools and sports, also decreased 3.8% to $365.5 million.

 With $105.9 million in revenue for the month, blackjack was once again the segment's top earner.  This represents a 6.9% increase over August of the previous year.

 Revenue from roulette rose 22.9% to $49.0 million, while three-card poker and Ultimate Texas Hold'em also saw rise.

 However, Nevada's overall numbers were impacted by decreases elsewhere.  Craps revenue dropped 7.8% to $33.4 million, while baccarat revenue fell 34.3% to $76.3 million.  Revenue from Keno and Pai Gow decreased annually as well.

 Revenue from sports betting in Mississippi increased in August.
 Moving from Nevada into Mississippi, $3.2 million was made in August from taxable sports betting.  This is 68.4% ahead of July this year and 18.5% higher than it was last year.

 The Mississippi Gaming Commission reports that the total amount wagered during the month was $22.6 million, which is approximately 5.6% more than in 2023.  This gave the state an overall grip of 14.1%.

 With $2.1 million in sports betting revenue, up 31.3% from the previous year, coastal casinos once again won the lead.  These casinos' handle exceeded $13.7 million, indicating a 15.2% hold for August.

 Revenue from central casinos was $566,774, a decrease of 22.4% from the previous year.  On the other hand, gamblers wagered $5.3 million on sports at these casinos, which is a 10.7% hold.

 Lastly, northern casinos had a 42.8% increase in revenue, reaching $530,735.  This left a 14.8% hold for the venues, with a handle of $3.6m.
