Online gaming will increase the whole market, according to SBA economic analysis.

 According to an economic analysis published by the Sports Betting Alliance (SBA), introducing icasino into a market boosts both overall and in-person casino income.

 In addition, 2,389 existing and "prospective" gamblers were polled as part of the Analysis Group's study.

 According to the report, once internet casinos were introduced, revenue at land-based casinos in the states that allow igaming—Conn., Delaware, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia—rose by 1.9%.

 The report doesn't demonstrate if gamers were brand loyal or which land-based casinos consumers frequented.

 Among the survey's findings:

 The total gaming revenue in the states that currently have online casinos was 46% higher in 2023 than it was prior to the launch of online casinos in those states; Maryland's land-based casinos, where lawmakers are considering legalising igaming, would earn an extra $224 million if online casinos were legalised; Maryland's total market is expected to increase from $2 billion in revenue annually in 2024 to $3.9 billion in 2029; and Pennsylvania has experienced the highest revenue growth among the states that allow igaming since it was introduced in 2018.  Between 2018 and 2023, Pennsylvania's total gaming revenue increased by 58.9%.

 According to the study, online casinos have the potential to boost gaming frequency, reintroduce tax money that has been lost to offshore or out-of-state platforms, and grow their market share through brand loyalty.  Customers from other industries, such as sports betting, might join an online gambling platform as a result.

 It also explained how land-based casinos can draw various types of customers and provide completely different experiences than online casinos.

 The majority of igaming patrons report that they have neither reduced their frequency of visits or overall expenditures at land-based casinos since beginning to play igaming, according to the authors.

 Other activities that some people find interesting are also available at land-based casinos.

 States that allow online gambling will experience a notable increase in igaming revenue within the first five years, according to economic analysis.
 A 41-year-old man from Michigan stated, "It's nice to do it online on a licensed casino app, but it's also nice to do it at a real casino." Other survey participants agreed.

 A 29-year-old man from New York replied, "Because there is plenty of stuff to do and casinos have other activities I would enjoy."  "It would be a nice getaway."

 Analysis Group discovered from the study that although 1,118 respondents had engaged in online sports betting and 1,188 had engaged in igaming during the previous 12 months, at least 64% of those in both groups had switched to another type of online gambling.

 Analysis Group polled 200 respondents from each of the five states that are expected to legalise online gambling as well as from the six states that now allow it.  All respondents, who were at least 21 years old, reported having gambled within the previous 12 months.  The online survey was available from January 17 to February 6.

 Revenue might almost treble in five years, according to the analysis.
 Online casino and sports betting is provided by a number of US operators, including regional players BetRivers and Penn Entertainment as well as national players BetMGM, Caesars Entertainment, DraftKings, Fanatics, and FanDuel.  These businesses can cross-promote their online casino and sports betting brands thanks to internet casinos.

 According to Analysis Group, revenue from internet gambling could increase from $5.9 billion in 2025 to $10.4 billion in 2029 in the five states that could legalise it: Illinois, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New York, and Virginia.

 49.4% of respondents in states where online gambling is already legal stated that they visit land-based casinos just as frequently as they did before igaming became authorised.  In all, 18.7% visit physical casinos less frequently and 26.5% visit them more frequently.

 The findings were comparable for the five anticipated igaming states, with 49.1% of respondents stating they would keep going to physical casinos at the same rate.  In contrast, 16.8% said they would go less frequently and 28.3% said they would go more frequently.

 When asked how much they spend at land-based casinos, 52.2% of respondents in areas where internet gambling is legal stated they spend the same amount as before, while 26.1% stated they spend more now.  16.9% of respondents claimed to have reduced their spending.

 49.4% of respondents from the five states with anticipated internet casinos said they would expect to spend the same amount of time at land-based casinos, compared to 28.6% who said they would likely spend more and 16.5% who said they would likely spend less.

 Because sports betting and online gambling are comparable, the analysis projects online gambling revenue using what is known as a "unique model."  Additionally, it offers a thorough examination of the development of igaming in the states where it is allowed, summarises other research of a similar nature conducted from 2008 to 2024, and compiles information from eight sources.

 The report states, "This study supports the empirical evidence about the market-expanding effect of igaming on the overall gaming market and the complementary nature of igaming and land-based casinos."
